Hyderabad Cybercrime Police refunded ₹1.4 crore to victims of online frauds after arresting 24 individuals linked to 313 cybercrime cases across India. The accused were involved in scams including fake investments, credit card frauds, and identity theft. The crackdown spanned six states and led to multiple recoveries and seizures.
Between April and October 2024, six individuals were duped through fake investment apps promoted on Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Vasai Cyber Police recovered ₹7.71 lakh lost in the scam and refunded the amount to the victims after tracing the fraudulent transactions and coordinating with financial institutions.
